Earn the Take Care of Texas Award through On-site Conservation Projects at Lost Pines during the Hornaday Award Weekend
If you've found yourself wondering what you can do to pass the time while your Scouts are busy in their Merit Badge classes at Hornaday Award Weekends, consider helping out by assisting with a conservation project.  We will organize a project or two that will be conducted on-site at Lost Pines Scout Reservation during the Hornaday Award weekend.

Depending upon the number of volunteers, we will conduct projects from a list that includes:  erosion control along heavily used paths to campsites, removal of non-native/invasive plant species, putting down mulch along paths, and/or general pruning to help spruce up our Scouting facility.

You can register for the Service Projects as an adult or Scout.  If you want to more information, please contact Jessica Snider via e-mail at .
jessica.snider@scouting.org.

We'll provide most of the larger supplies, but be prepared with appropriate clothing, including long pants, boots, gloves, and headgear. If you have your own favorite hand-tools (e.g., shovel, bow saw, loppers, rake, hoe, wheelbarrows - we especially need wheelbarrows) please bring them along as well.

Let's leave our mark on LPSR!  See you at Hornaday!
