Project type: Soil and Water Conservation
Scout Name: Josh R.
Unit: Troop 28 Austin, Texas
Project Location: Bunny Run Nature Preserve
Partner Organization: Hill Country Conservancy
Completion date: October 9, 2005

Josh’s conservation project was establishing shoreline stabilization on Lake Austin at Bunny Run Nature Preserve. Josh identified, researched, planned, and executed with his conservation advisor to preserve fifty-five feet of shoreline.  The conservation project will save several cypress trees that were in danger as well.  Josh was able to enlist over 30 Scouts from local packs, troops and crews to perform hundreds of hours of conservation service for the nature preserve.
